    R-449A

    R32/R125/R13…

R-449A (Opteon XP40) is an HFO/HFC refrigerant blend developed as a non-flammable, lower-GWP alternative to R-404A and R-507A in commercial and industrial refrigeration. With a GWP of 1,397—about 65% lower than R-404A—R-449A offers substantial environmental benefits while retaining A1 safety classification. The blend contains HFO-1234yf along with R-32, R-125, and R-134a, balancing performance with environmental responsibility. R-449A is widely used in supermarket refrigeration, cold storage, transport refrigeration, and ice machines. The refrigerant requires POE lubricant and can be used in new systems or retrofit applications with appropriate adjustments.
