    Detection Requirements

R-514A is detected using non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensors calibrated to the absorption spectrum of its HFO-1336mzz(Z) component. NDIR technology provides reliable, low-maintenance monitoring with long sensor life and immunity to sensor poisoning. Detector mounting should follow ASHRAE 15 guidelines for low-pressure refrigerants, typically at breathing zone height in mechanical rooms housing centrifugal chillers. CET's cGas IR Refrigerant Transmitter provides accurate, parts-per-million level detection with both analog and digital output options for BAS integration.
