    R-407A

    R32/R125/R134a

R-407A is a zeotropic HFC refrigerant blend (R-32/R-125/R-134a at 20/40/40%) developed as a medium-temperature alternative to R-404A with improved environmental performance. With a GWP of 2,107—approximately half that of R-404A—R-407A offers a transitional option for commercial refrigeration retrofit and new systems. The zeotropic nature results in temperature glide during phase change, requiring consideration in system design and charging procedures. R-407A provides compatible performance with R-404A systems with minor modifications, making it suitable for retrofit applications in supermarkets and cold storage. While not a long-term solution due to GWP regulations, R-407A serves as an interim step toward ultra-low-GWP alternatives.
