Next Generation Calibration Cap

Improved diffusion model calibration cap for stable calibration across all environments.
As part of our ongoing product improvement initiative, CET is phasing out the legacy calibration plug adapter and transitioning to the next-generation Cal Cap.
The Cal Cap has been designed to provide:
- Consistent Calibration Experience: Improved diffusion model for stable calibration across all environments.
- Future-Ready Design: Fully compatible with our latest and upcoming detector platforms.
- Aligned with Best Practices: Supports our most current calibration standards, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
As of May 1, 2026, all gas detectors will be factory-calibrated with the Cal Cap, including:
- CGAS-A Analog and CGAS-D Digital detectors
- CGAS-AP and CGAS-DP Public Space and VRF Detectors
- cGas-SC Self Contained Controller
- LPT Low Profile Transmitter
- ESH-A Remote Sensor
- Replacement Sensors
- Sensorless Stocking Sensors
To ensure an accurate and successful bump test, you must use a diffusion style calibration adapter such as CET"s Cal Cap. If you perform a bump test with CET’s legacy calibration adapter plug, the readings will be inaccurate and unreliable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the Cal Cap?
- The Cal Cap is CET’s next-generation diffusion-style calibration cap, designed to replace the legacy calibration plug adapter.
Why did CET introduce the Cal Cap?
- It delivers more consistent and reliable calibration results and supports both current and future CET gas detector platforms.
When will CET switch to the Cal Cap?
- As of May 1, 2026, all CET detectors will be factory-calibrated using the Cal Cap.
Which products can the Cal Cap be used with?
- All current CET gas detectors, modules, replacement sensors, and sensorless stocking sensors.
Can I still use the old calibration plug adapter?
- It is not recommended. Using the legacy adapter on Cal Cap-calibrated devices—identified by a serial number with the first four digits after 0526 (MMYY)—can result in inaccurate bump tests.
Can I use other diffusion-style adapters?
- Yes. Other diffusion-style adapters may be used; however, CET recommends the CET Cal Cap to ensure proper fit, consistent gas delivery, and accurate calibration results.
