    R-427A

    R32/R125/R14…

R-427A is an HFC refrigerant blend (R-32/R-125/R-143a/R-134a at 15/25/10/50%) developed as an alternative to R-22 for air conditioning and heat pump applications. The four-component blend offers performance characteristics similar to R-22 with reasonable environmental improvement. R-427A requires POE lubricant change during retrofit. With a GWP of 2,138, R-427A is subject to phase-down regulations but offers moderate improvement over some alternatives. The blend has found use in commercial AC systems and heat pumps where R-22 replacement is required. Temperature glide is moderate, requiring attention to charging procedures.
