New Application Brochure - Parking Garages / Car Parks

Enclosed parking structures can become unsafe areas when exhaust fumes collect and are not ventilated properly. To provide a safe parking facility and minimize energy costs associated with the operation of the ventilation system, a hazardous gas detection system is necessary.

What is the difference between Explosion Proof and Intrinsically Safe gas detectors?

Gas detectors for hazardous location applications must meet strict codes and standards, including requiring the equipment to be either explosion proof or intrinsically safe. What is the difference between these two methods of explosion protection?

Why should residential gas detectors NOT be used in commercial applications?

While it might be tempting to buy the cheaper residential gas detector, there are some important differences in performance, diagnostics, regulatory standards, and configurability that makes using residential models in commercial or industrial environments insufficient, dangerous and unlawful.
