"Sticky" Gases: PTFE Membrane to the Rescue

Chlorine (Cl2) and Ozone (O3) are very “sticky” gases and as the term suggests, they like to stick to things, such as a splash guard and enclosure vents instead of flowing through to the sensor. We have tried modifying the enclosure and the splash guard and have tried flow and response time testing, etc. all to no avail – (Cl2) and (O3) gases just don't want to co-operate! Until...

Gas Monitor Bump Testing vs Calibration

Most malfunctions are discovered at the time of calibration or bump testing, meaning at some point between calibrations the gas monitor manifested a problem. Is a bump test adequate or is calibration a better choice?
